Rescue Alert History

In 1981, Richard Bangerter and a few of his colleagues who developed an emergency communication system called SOSTEN for homes which worked using the existing phone lines. SOSTEN was a standalone “smart” system which did not need any monitoring. In response to the needs of the medical alert market, in 1986, Richard Bangerter started Mytrex Inc. (DBA Rescue Alert), with its headquarters in Murray, Utah and in 1990, the company launched Rescue Alert Automated Monitoring System and RA100.

The rapid growth of the company led to the moving of the company headquarters from Murray to Midvale in 1991 and again in 1998, the headquarters was moved to Draper, Utah. In 1999, the company released RA400, which included a transmitter and receiver. And, in 2011, Rescue Alert moved to its new facility in South Jordan, Utah that was sufficiently large to support future growth.

In 2011, Rescue Alert launched MXD medical alert system, the first system offering compatibility with traditional phone systems, VoIP, cell box and cable systems and in 2013, it launched the MXD3G, the 1st cellular medical alert system in the market, which enabled people without landlines to use the medical alert monitoring and protection. In 2014, Rescue Alert opened its call center in St. George, Utah. In 2105, the company launched myActive Fall Alert.
